Terms of use

Draft for college reviewLast updated 8 October 2026

These terms are the agreement for using Talk. By creating an account you agree to them, to the privacy promise and to the community guidelines.

What Talk is

Talk is an anonymous support app for students and trainees of Andhra Medical College. You can chat with trained student volunteers and with doctors, post on a moderated community wall, and send a report to a college committee. It opens after the college approves it.

What Talk is not

  • Talk is not an emergency service. Replies are not instant. If you or someone near you is in immediate danger, call a helpline under In danger now, or 112.
  • Volunteers are students who listen. They are not doctors or counsellors, and they do not diagnose or advise on medicines.
  • Doctors on Talk offer support and a first conversation only. Diagnosis and prescriptions happen when you choose to see a doctor in person or in an identified consultation.

Who can use Talk

  • Students and trainees of the college who have the current college code and their own email address.
  • One account for each person. Bans apply to the person, not only to a code.

Your account

  • You stay signed in for 90 days on a device, then sign in again with an emailed code.
  • You can add an app PIN, which stays on your phone. Keep your phone and your email account secure: anyone who can read your email can sign in as you.
  • You can get a new code once a month.

How to behave

Follow the community guidelines. Spam and rudeness lead to a warning, then a mute on the wall, then a ban. Sexual content, threats, targeted harassment and sharing intimate images lead to an immediate ban, and serious cases can lead to your identity being opened as the privacy notice describes.

If you think a mute or a ban is a mistake, write to the Grievance Officer with your code.

What you write

  • You are responsible for what you write. Do not include anything that identifies another person, except in a report to a committee.
  • Wall posts and replies are read by a moderator before anyone else sees them, and some are not published. Once published, any member can report them, and a moderator may remove them.
  • Moderators may hold, cover or remove a message that breaks the guidelines. Messages with phone numbers, links or email addresses are held for review.

Volunteers and doctors

Volunteers are approved only after an in-person orientation and a signed code of conduct. They never move a chat off Talk, meet a student in person or share contact details. Doctors' profiles go live only after they approve them.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Me. What happens is described in the privacy notice. Talk may close an account that breaks these terms; a closed account can still sign in to read why and how to appeal.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that matters, you are asked to read them and agree again the next time you open Talk.

Complaints, and appeals against a mute or a closed account, go to the Grievance Officer: Added before launch.
